The Simpsons Movie
So I just got back from watching the Simpsons movie… what’s that I hear you gasping? A Christian, watching THAT movie? But what about all the blasphemy?
So they poke some fun at us rigid, boring, holy poly Christians - so what. In fact those were some of the funniest parts of the movie. The one part, when everyone finds out they’re about to die, everyone in the church runs next door to Moe’s (the bar) and everyone in Moe’s runs next door to the church. Instead of complaining about how “offensive” this is, shouldn’t we rather wonder how accurate it is? How many people who claim to put their trust in God will go running to something else in their time of need? How many people who put their trust in other things (such as alcohol) will go running to God in their time of need? And who would God have mercy on - those who profess a false faith, or those who surrender to His power. What would your church congregation do, if you were all given only minutes to live - you may not want to know the truth.
